Swimming

General Overview

Swimming is a life skill and a sport that enhances strength, endurance, and technique. From freestyle to breaststroke, it’s a full-body workout that promotes safety, fitness, and goal setting. Swimmers gain confidence and focus through individual and team events.

Swimming is one of the Andrews Cup’s three core sports, with all schools participating annually. The event includes a wide range of strokes and relay formats for students in Years 2 to 6. Heats, finals and relay races provide students with opportunities to perform individually and as a team.

Training programs often follow Swimming Australia’s guidelines, focusing on technique, endurance and water safety.
