The 88th Annual Andrews Cup Swimming Championships brought together ten schools for a vibrant celebration of girls’ sport at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre on 9 March 2026.
Contested in a short course (25m) format, the day featured enthusiastic racing across all age groups, with Somerville House delivering another outstanding team performance to claim the Andrews Cup aggregate title for the fourth consecutive year. The team finished on 985 points, ahead of a competitive field.

Beyond the results, the 2026 championships marked an important milestone, with multi-class events included for the first time. Athletes from Fairholme College and St Hilda’s School competed in the 25m freestyle and 25m breaststroke, reflecting the Association’s commitment to inclusion and ensuring opportunities for all students to participate.
The standard of competition was impressive, with 18 championship records broken across the meet. From individual efforts to team relays, swimmers demonstrated determination, resilience and a genuine enjoyment of racing alongside their peers.
Clayfield College continued its remarkable run in the Percentage Cup Trophy, securing first place with 502% and extending its streak to 11 consecutive wins. Fairholme College and St Aidan’s AGS completed the podium, recognising consistent performances across their teams.

Another highlight of the day came in the Springfield Cup (Open 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay), where Somerville House produced a strong swim to take the win in 2:07.96. Clayfield College and St Margaret’s AGS followed in second and third place, showcasing excellent teamwork and school spirit.
